We will be soon be adding simple 'how-to' videos to this page. These videos and screen shots will explain how to use different parts of the site. You can also contact us for a 'guided-tour' of the site: info@aidsportal.org.
The site is currently in 'beta', which means we are still testing and improving it. We invite you to have a look around, set up a personal profile, start a group, highlight the work of your organisation - and let us know what you like and what could be improved. Since the site is still in 'beta,' you will notice that there are things that don't work as they should, or parts of the site that still need to be simplified. We've set up a simple form that you can fill out if you come across a problem: Feedback Form. This will help us get the site ready for the launch, and help us make sure it meets your needs.
Here are some of the things you can do on MyAIDSNexus:
- Higlight your work in your individual profile: When you join MyAIDSNexus, we automatically set up an individual profile for you. You can edit your profile, set up collections of resources that you are interested in, and show off videos and pictures related to your work. All profiles are included in the People directory.
- Raise awareness of what your organisation does: The organisation profiles on MyAIDSNexus provide mini web-sites for large and small organisations. When you create a profile for your organisation, you can share key documents and resources, show off pictures and videos, and let people know how to get involved. All organisations are featured in the Organisations directory.
- Start a group on a programmatic or policy issue: When you set up a group profile, you create a space to share resources and connect with people on a particular issue. When you set up a group, you can decide whether information in the group is public (everyone can see it) or private (only people who join the group can see it). All groups are featured in the Groups directory.
- Set up email alerts for jobs, funding opportunities and other resources: Instead of always searching on the same topic (such as children affected by AIDS) you can set up an alert so that you get an email of any new resources on that topic added to MyAIDSNexus.
- Lead a dicussion: You can set up a lead a dicussion within an organiation or group profile.
- Feature content from MyAIDSNexus on your own website: MyAIDSNexus is made up of Applications that you can embed into your own website. Applications include a Jobs Directory, a Grant Directory and an OVC Directory Service - giving you instant and interactive content without ever leaving your website!
